We place as much emphasis on STRONG maternal genetics as we do on our buck's genetics. Some of the does you see here have mother, grandmothers, and great grandmothers still heavily used in production! Our does are fed daily to help us keep a watchful eye on everyone, but they all live out in open pasture and love their freedom. They are moved into a smaller "nursery" pasture 30-45 days before kidding to gradually increase grain intake and more closely monitor the expectant mothers. They penned up for no more than 5 days following kidding and returned to the nursery with the other freshening does and new kids where they will stay until the kids reach weaning age and the does are moved back off grain until their milk dries up and we start the whole process again!
